Dolphins linebacker Kelvin Smith, one of three seventh-round selection in this year's draft, became the first of the team's 10 selections to sign his contract. Smith signed a four-year deal Wednesday.

Late-round picks typically will get their deals done well before training camp, although the first-day selections usually won't sign until the final weeks.

Smith, a four-year starter at Syracuse, finished second in tackles in the Big East during his senior season (106) and had three sacks.
